Don't you hate it when....

There are a few things that right p*ss me off. Maybe it's because I like to think that I've got a brain, or maybe (and most likely) it's just becuase I'm a witch with a capital B. Here's my list of tick-offs.

  • in online forums when people start a topic with something like "Does anyone know...." and so you have to click on the message to finish reading the question which is usually something as stupid as "...why we blink?" I. Can't. Stand. It.
  • When people confuse simple spelling (yeah, mom, me; complaining about spelling). My biggest pet peeve is the there/their/they're thing. But there are more. For example, a friend on Facebook once put "I hate it when people mow there lawns late at night. Don't they know that their are people trying to get they're sleep?" Another person wrote "So nice to here from you." Grrr!
  • Excpecially or Congradulations
  • and I really, really, REALLY hate it when people say to me "It must be so nice to sit at home all day long. I wish I had such a relaxing job." F*CK YOU! My job is far from relaxing -- and if you happen to see me sitting when you drop your kid off and sitting when you pick same kid up - you have witnessed a minor miracle.

That's it, that's the end of my rant - my kids are all nearly asleep and I have a shred to get to.

Do I dare, do I dare???

You totally spelled "because" wrong! Mwahahahaha...

The only time that sitting around all day is relaxing is when you make it past the halfway line on your bottle of wine ;) I've got another half a glass to go before the kids wake up....

As an English teacher, I find these things to be very annoying. I also dislike internet shorthand in emails, comments on blogs, and so on. I dnt want 2C ne more "how r u?" etc. This belongs only in text messages, although I type in full sentences with proper spelling (iPhone even has spellcheck).

Also, in spoken English, I get annoyed by "aks" for "ask."

So, people think you have an easy job? I don't get that when people find out that although I teach mostly adults, I also teach kids. They think I have a hard job. But I enjoy it.

Meaghan! You're horrible -- but yes, I did (and often do -- fingers can't keep up with the thinking). But -- what, pray tell, is the excuse for screwing up words. Sure, they sound the same two you and me, but too every one else who has a brain, they no how two think to! (ha..ha..ha?)

Hey Heather....quit slacking and get back to your easy peasy job of dealing with 4 children plus your own and molding their minds and ensuring that they grow to be good pillars of society. I mean, what are you complaining about...your job is sooo easy. (Excuse me while I wipe my coffee from my computer that I spit while typing this vast lie)

Oh and jaydeejapan...I work with many staff who are from this Y generation who not only type text type...they SPEAK IT! It is not out of the norm to hear the following phrase; "OMG my BF is such a QTPI"

Please comment, please. It makes me feel good, and well -- a woman just likes to feel good every now and then. I may not agree with your comment, it may even tick me off and make me want to delete it...but comment anyway and make my day.
